I am an Associate Professor (equivalent to the UK rank of Reader) at the Federmann School of Public Policy and Government and the Political Science department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 

I am also an Associate Editor of Public Administration Journal.

Before taking my current position in 2010, I completed a PhD (2007) in political science at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College and held a tenure-track position at King’s College London School of Management as well as a research fellowship at the Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation at the London School of Economics.

My research bridges bureaucratic politics and organizational theory. I aim to understand the conditions that render governmental bureaucracies more or less permeable to public expectations and demands.Specifically, I am interested in the responses of senior civil servants and government bureaucracies to public pressures and expectations, including media scrutiny, public opinion and social protests.

Methodologically, I specialize in mixed-methods designs, combining quantitative and qualitative tools within the same project.

My work has been published in various journals and edited volumes, including the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Governance, Public Administration and Regulation & Governance.
